Introduction fom the Japanese Interpreter based in Cebu, Philippines
Why Ramonthego?
Over 11 years of interpretation and translation experience with multinational companies in Japan. As someone who has worked in both Japanese multinational companies as well as foreign subsidiaries in Japan, I understand not just the language, but also the complex nuances of both Japanese and foreign culture.
I have JLPT N1 certification. JLPT N1 is considered the highest and hardest level to test Japanese language proficiency. People with N1 certification are able to use Japanese in any situation, including business and technical situations.
I have a TOEIC perfect score (990/990). I have native level proficiency in English because as a Filipino, we were taught English in school from an early age. Having also worked in a foreign subsidiary, I also have real world experience of regularly using English for business purposes.
I have Japanese permanent residence. I am currently based in Cebu City, Philippines, but as a permanent resident of Japan, if necessary, I can visit Japan without any restriction.
I speak Bisaya (a Filipino dialect). The Philippines is an archipelago of many islands, and as you go to the Southern part of the country, there are numerous cases where Tagalog (Philippine national language) is not being used. In particular, for places such as Cebu, Davao, Negros, Bohol, Palawan, General Santos, etc., one must speak in the native dialect, Bisaya to be understood. Cebu City is my hometown and as such, I have native level proficiency in Bisaya aside from Tagalog.
